Mr.Dictionary
My friend, please do not take me for granted that I would like to describe the dictionary, although they two do have some similarities.
This Mr.Dictionary is a person in real life, who is my personal “Encyclopedia”, as I mean it. To tell the truth, I could not describe Mr. Dictionary’s appearance, for he often disappeared to do something significant. In this regard, at one time, I mistook his dictionary full of Chinese, actually, it was bubbling with wisdoms in the world of English.
That was twelve years ago. I, a naive girl, found by accident his notes on the always-clean blackboard not erased after having given lessons. I recognized them Chinese letters at first glance. As a matter of fact, they were English, which I knew several years later myself. I imitated under each word then, surely having fun.
Being outside, Mr.Dictionary had a lot to say, while he behaved less energetically when I had the opportunity to meet him in person. Several years passing by, Mr.Dictionary never uttered a single English word to me, even though I grew to the very age to learn…
Till our Mr.Dictionary at his middle age now, I discover he is changed because this time I disappear for something significant—higher level education in university majoring what he pursues. Unconsciously we are bound together. And I can’t help myself declaring: I love you, my Mr.Dictionary, as I read his mind at last.
