The Winter Solstice

The Winter Solstice(Dec 22nd)is a special solar term in China.We eat jiaozi but not with the same meaning as in the Spring Festival to witness the new year,directly deriving from the exact translation of jiaozi in Chinese.On Dec 22nd,people buy or make jiaozi to wish that their ears will not be chilled in the following cold days,directly deriving from the exact shape of jiaozi.Sounds interesting?Every year on this very day, the purchase of the particular food,jiaozi, is rather hot.I can still remember it clearly that I finally managed to eat it after an hour's waiting in the queue in the university canteen.My appetite was spoiled a little in a certain degree.
This year,I drew a lesson from that and went to my Uncle's to celebrate the solar term,unfortunately only to have the opportunity to eat the quick-freeze jiaozi from a supermarket nearby.What jiaozi will I eat next year?Will my parents,relatives,friends or classmates be sitting around me to make our own jiaozi? I expect that day comes soon!
